Bah Sutlej Valley Canal System in Bahawalpur Canal Circle. In Bahawalpur Canal Circle 4 Nos. Main Canals viz Bahawal Canal Upper, Qaim Canal, Bahawal Canal Lower, Abbasia Canal and Abbasia Link Canal. Sidhnai – Mailsi – Bahawal (SMB Link) and Pakpattan – Islam (P.I. Link) are the Links which too fall under jurisdiction of Bahawalpur Circle.

On all these Canal System, there are two types of Canals viz Perennial and Non-perennial. Perennial Canals mostly feed the Desert Saline Water Area while Non-perennial Canals irrigate sweet water area. The Non-perennial Channels starts running from 15th April to 15th October of each year.

Bahawalpur Canal Circle covers gross area of 0.945 Million Hectors with Cultureable Commanded Area of 0.690 Million Hectors. There is 186 Kilometers length of Flood Bunds in the Circle. The total length of Link Canals falls in the jurisdiction of Bahawalpur Canal Circle is 288 Kilometers and length of Main Canal and Branches 339.50 Kilometers. The length of Distributaries, Minors and Sub Minors is 1971.09 Kilometers.
